Abstract: With the sustained growth of requirements for the short range high-speed 
wireless communication, over 5 GHz unlicensed spectrums around 60 GHz band are 
allocated in many countries. 60 GHz millimeter wave wireless communication has become
a new hot topic. In this article, the application and industrialization of mm-wave 
technology in communications are reviewed. The trend and challenges of the 
standardization and industrialization of 60 GHz technology are also introduced.
