Abstract：This paper describes the intrusion detection techniques trend，including 
statistical models,neural networks,artificial immune system,and points out the drawbacks
of intrusion detection systems. Intrusion detection systems are combined with firewall
honeypot and vulnerability scanning to improve the performance of intrusion detection
systems.
