摘要 介绍了成功挖掘遗留资产的过程及方法：初步信息采集，为再工程进行选项分析，技术上对资产的理解，软件资产的修复。重点讲述了面对象封装和组件封装技术是如何应用于软件产品线,并指出了挖掘遗留资产的相应风险。

Abstract:Mining existing assets offers an organization the potential to leverage all, or 
part, of its cumulative system investments, and thus represents a critical practice area in
implementing a software product line. This paper introduce four basic steps that are 
required to successfully mining assets: Preliminary information gathering, Options 
Analysis for Reengineering,technical understanding of existing software and rehabilitation
of assets. We provide a survey of rehabilitation of assets including object oriented
wrapping and component wrapping. In the end we indicate the risk of mining existing 
assets.
